10/26/11--16:14: Little Blue and Orange Coptic Bound Journal by mamacateyes (chan 1527251)

This wonderful journal / notebook is made of a wonderful blue photo mat board and pumkin orange paper. It measures approximately 3 by 3 1/4 inches and has 48 papers (96 front and back pages). This book was hand stitched using the Coptic binding method with shades of orange string through tiny orange eyelets on both covers, so that book will lay more flat when open.

Write those thoughts down, journal, take notes, little sketches, doodles, whatever your creative heart and mind desires can fill the pages of this book.

All of my photo mat board is from an artist friend of mine who is also a framer. The pieces are usually to small for her to work with for framing purposes and are destined either for the garbage or my house to upcycle and make fabulous things with. At times there may be pencil markings on the back side of the mat board that were for measurements that never got cut.

This wonderful type of paper is totally decorated by hand in Florence by an artisan that knows the ancient art of marbling paper. It's an Italian tipical product normally used in bookbinding; I use this kind of paper that I love a lot to make paper jewelry. I folded these origami inserts on some little rings that I united to a metallic chain. This necklace is very light and confortable, and it's perfect for summer with these colors that remember the sea and sun.
This necklace is protected by varnish and it's water resistant but non water-proof. Don't forget to remove it before swimming or take a shower
